The Fear

Trad.
Illegal lofty 2nd belay stance,
stand with head in big notch,
tip toe on lip above way way down crashing sea,
hex and thread,
pressure palms on gritty shelves beside the notch,
twist L leg out reach back hook hip-busting shelf,
squeeze down and flip R hand onto flimsy higher plate,
2 hands on plate and swing legs onto big L shelf,
wriggle body onto cramped chosy ledge,
cam,
calm down,
swivel out reach up R hand onto big hold pull up,
hex,
gain L hold clamber up big blind jugs trending L to roof,
cam,
crouch using honeycomb holds under roof L R L R,
shimmy feet L R L R to hanging arete,
safe big horizontal ledge,
2 cams,
lean out underhang big ears feet in break look around arete,
retreat,
think things through,
reach and pull round onto step L wall high above the pounding mash and sharks,
nuts,
pump up crack and jugs past rusty piton,
wire,
desperate elvis mantle onto lookout top,
smile for the Nikon flashes,
watch for rangers’ patrol.
